Diabetes is a disease characterized by abnormally high blood sugar. Many million people are living with diabetes and 1.5 million more are diagnosed with diabetes every year. Diabetes refers to a group of diseases that hinder your body’s ability to process glucose, the main sugar found in your blood and used by your cells for energy. This leads to an excess of sugar in your blood, which can have serious health consequences, like cardiovascular disease and damage to your nerves, kidneys, eyes, and feet.Treatment for diabetes is very and unfortunately, it was also the seventh leading cause of death in 2015. Many diabetics are looking for natural, alternative ways to supplement their treatment.

If poorly controlled, it can lead to complications like heart disease, kidney disease and nerve damage. Treatment often includes medications and insulin injections, but many people are also interested in alternative treatment including herbal extracts that is does not have the complications that the drugs do.

It is the active component found in turmeric, a rhizome that’s related to ginger and is also used as a spice. It has been used in India for thousands of years to treat conditions like rheumatism, fatigue, and diabetes. The compound curcumin has been found to have several properties that could help prevent and treat diabetes. While research is still ongoing, curcumin could provide an inexpensive edge in the fight against diabetes, while also being easy to incorporate into your daily life.

One such example is cinnamon, a commonly used spice that’s added to sweet and savory dishes around the world. It provides many other health benefit, including the ability to lower blood sugar and help manage diabetes.

It is an aromatic spice derived from the bark of several species of Cinnamomum trees. To obtain cinnamon, the inner bark of Cinnamomum trees must be removed.

The bark then undergoes a drying process that causes it to curl up and yield cinnamon sticks, or quills, which can be further processed into powdered cinnamon.

Cinnamon comes in two varieties — Ceylon cinnamon and cassia cinnamon. Cassia cinnamon is the kind most use for baking and cooking. It’s also the variety most researchers have used when they’ve studied cinnamon and diabetes.

Multiple small studies have demonstrated improved blood sugar levels associated with cinnamon intake. Some of this research has shown that cinnamon may lower blood sugar by decreasing insulin resistance. In people with type 2 diabetes, the sugar-lowering hormone insulin does not work as well. This leads to higher blood sugar levels.

In one study, volunteers ate from 1 to 6 grams of cinnamon for 40 days. One gram of ground cinnamon is about half a teaspoon. Researchers found that cinnamon reduced cholesterol by about 18% and blood sugar levels by 24%.

Using Cinnamon appears to be safe in those with diabetes. People with liver damage should be careful, however, because large amounts of cinnamon may increase liver problems. Cinnamon supplements are classified as a food, not a drug. Unlike medications, supplement makers don’t have to prove their products are safe or effective.  If you and your doctor decide cinnamon is right for you, pay close attention to your blood sugar levels. Let your doctor know if your blood sugar levels fall too low.

 Trigonella foenum graecum

The seeds may also help improve how the body uses sugar and increases the amount of insulin released. Many studies focus on the seed’s ability to lower blood sugar in people with diabetes. One study found that a daily dose of 10 grams of fenugreek seeds soaked in hot water may help control type 2 diabetes. Diabetes mellitus can be regulated through a healthy diet of carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids, and intake of prescription medication, including insulin. A curated diet regulates blood glucose level and hypoglycemia, and prescription medication assists chemical

reaction of metabolism. The economic burden of a curated diet and prescription medication may be resolved with alternative herbal remedies, including fenugreek. The seeds of fenugreek plant are a rich source of soluble fiber, which slows down the digestion process, increasing the absorption of sugar. Consuming fenugreek regularly helps reduce the blood sugar level successfully. It also helps enhance the glucose tolerance and reduces the amount of cholesterol efficiently. Fenugreek lowers the bad cholesterol or LDL and triglycerides while helping the release of good cholesterol or HDL

 Momordica charantia

Unripe fruit, seeds and aerial parts of Momordica charantia Linn. (Cucurbitaceae) have been used in various parts of the world to treat diabetes. Oral administration of the fruit juice or seed powder causes a reduction in fasting blood glucose and improves glucose tolerance in normal and diabetic animals and in humans. Animal and in vitro data support both insulin secretagogue and insulinomimetic activity of the fruit. However, enhanced insulin levels in vivo in response to its administration have not been observed. Although a wide range of compounds have been isolated from Momordica charantia, notably steroidal compounds and proteins, the orally active antidiabetic principle has not been adequately identified. Other reported hypoglycaemic principles from Momordica charantia include the sterol glucoside mixture charantin (fruit) and the pyrimidine nucleoside vicine (seeds). However these are only effective at doses too high to account for all the activity of the plant extract. Principal toxicity of Momordica charantia in animals is to the liver and reproductive system. These effects have not been reported in humans despite widespread use of the fruit medicinally and as a vegetable.

It is a mineral that also is called an “essential trace element” because very small amounts of chromium are necessary for human health. Chromium is taken by mouth for improving blood sugar control in people with prediabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and high blood sugar due to taking steroids and HIV treatments.
Some people take chromium by mouth for body conditioning including weight loss, increasing muscle, and decreasing body fat. Chromium is also taken by mouth to improve athletic performance, to increase energy, and to prevent age-related mental decline.
Chromium might help keep blood sugar levels normal by improving the way our bodies use insulin. Some evidence shows that taking chromium picolinate (a chemical compound that contains chromium) by mouth, either alone or along with biotin, can lower fasting blood sugar, lower insulin levels, and help insulin work in people with type 2 diabetes. Chromium levels can be below normal in people with diabetes.

For diabetes: In people with type 2 diabetes, 200-1000 mcg of chromium taken daily in a single or divided doses has been used.

STP Pharma  Manufactures and brings together the most effective herbal extracts and trace element of chromium  for whom are looking for an alternative way to confront their diabetes or to prevent.
